Ever wanted to take your EV off-road? Volkswagen have released a concept version of their ID4 the Volkswagen ID. XTREME.
This 4×4 beast blends the characteristics of a current SUV with the spirit of exploration represented by a tough off-road vehicle.
How is it different?
Unveiled at VWs ‘ID. Treffen’ electric-car owner event in Switzerland, The Volkswagen ID. Xtreme gets about 30% more power than the highest spec ID.4 currently in production. Producing a hefty 285kws
Sporting a plethora of modification including lifted suspension, 18-inch rims drawing inspiration from rally cars, a reworked front bumper with a bull bar, and 3D-printed wheel arch flares that increase the width by 50mm.
The ID. Xtreme includes rigid under body aluminium panels, providing extra protection to its 82kWh battery pack. It also receives a roof-mounted light bar in addition to the LED light strip placed between the headlights to help light the way in darker conditions.

Going to Xtreme lengths to make this car unique
Engineers wanted to create a unique auditory experience, inside and out. The driving noise subsequently was created specifically for the concept car in collaboration with Volkswagen Design and is output to the exterior through a sound generator in the wheel housing.
The offroad EV monster adds a number of interior details, including numerous applications of microfiber cloth, redesigned seats, and materials with an orange accent. It also goes without saying that the ID. XTREME is environmentally friendly.
Volkswagen has previously stated its plans to introduce its range of ID. electric cars to Australia from the end of 2023, while the ID. Xtreme won’t be put into production either here or abroad-at least not in its current form.
