Audi Team Up To Add In-Car Virtual Reality Tech

Audi has revealed immersive VR tech for back-seat passengers

Audi stepping into VR

Passengers of Audi vehicles will soon be able to immerse themselves in virtual reality films, games and interactive content after teaming up with German company Holoride.

From June 2022, select Audi models—A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q7, Q8, e-tron, , e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT—with third-gen modular infotainment toolkit MIB 3 and the latest software cluster, will be VR-ready.

The heart of the experience is something Holoride calls “Elastic Content.” That adapts the players experience to the car’s movements.

Users will need a wireless VR headset to jump aboard the Holoride experience, and the headset of choice for the system is the HTC Vive Flow. Following a partnership agreement with HTC
